CAD Engineer
Job Description
Tasks
- Produce detailed CAD drawings for cabinetry, joinery, and custom millwork projects.
- Interpret architectural and interior design plans to develop shop drawings.
- Apply knowledge of cabinet construction methods, hardware, and materials.
- Modify designs based on client or production team feedback.
- Ensure all drawings comply with relevant building standards and specifications.
- Collaborate with project managers, designers, and production staff to resolve technical issues.
- Maintain organized drawing files and revision history.
Skill and Experience
- 3+ years of experience in CAD drafting specific to cabinetry or joinery.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD or Microvellum, with the ability to produce clear, accurate shop drawings.
- Strong understanding of cabinetry construction techniques, materials, and hardware.
- Ability to read and interpret architectural and interior design drawings.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work independently in a remote setting.
- Experience with Microvellum, Cabinet Vision, or similar specialized software.
- Background in custom kitchen, bathroom, or commercial cabinetry projects.
- Familiarity with U.S., Australian, or U.K. cabinetry standards.
