Job Description
Tasks
- Evaluate loan, insurance, or financial applications by analyzing creditworthiness, risk factors, and supporting documents.
- Assess compliance with underwriting guidelines and regulatory requirements.
- Communicate with clients, brokers, or internal teams to gather additional information as needed.
- Prepare detailed reports on underwriting decisions, outlining risks and approval conditions.
- Collaborate with internal departments to refine underwriting processes and address policy changes.
- Monitor industry trends and adjust risk assessment strategies accordingly.
- Maintain accurate and organized records of underwriting activities.
Skill and Experience
- Proven experience as an Underwriter, Credit Analyst, or in a related financial role.
- Strong knowledge of underwriting guidelines, credit risk analysis, and regulatory requirements.
- Proficiency in financial analysis tools and underwriting software.
- Excellent analytical and decision-making skills, with high attention to detail.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for interacting with remote teams and clients.
- Ability to work independently and manage deadlines in a remote environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Economics, or a related field is preferred; certifications in underwriting are a plus.
